Tone [Am]
I can’t [F]find myself I get [G]lost inside my [Am]brain
I think I [F]might need help But I pushed [G]all of them [Am]way
I took [F]cards they dealt And there’s [G]nothing I can [Am]change
So when I’m [F]by myself I just [G]pray for brighter [Am]days
[F]Sometimes I sit and I reminisce bout the good [G]times [Am]wish I could get those back
[F]I keep on running these races that go in my [G]mind [Am]then they go on these tracks
[F]I’m not ready to erase all my memo[G]ries [Am]
[F]I fight depression and I let it get the best of [G]me [Am]
now there’s nowhere to [F]run, nowhere to go
look around its [G]liquor bottles all on the [Am]floor
filling up the [F]space inside my heart and my home
drowning out these [G]thoughts until they leave me a[Am]lone
I can’t [F]find myself I get [G]lost inside my [Am]brain
I think I [F]might need help But I pushed [G]all of them [Am]way
I took [F]cards they dealt And there’s [G]nothing I can [Am]change
So when I’m [F]by myself I just [G]pray for brighter [Am]days
These thoughts are draining all my [F]energy
I try to tell em to [G]God they say i’m going in[Am]sane
And then they recommended [F]therapy
and to go and talk to a [G]man who’s getting paid to ex[Am]plain
He started saying that the [F]chemical imbalance is the reason that my brain
ain’t [G]connecting to accomplishments as[Am]sociated with moving
[F]on in life and past the things that my heart cannot contain
So the [G]happiness won’t sus[Am]tain
Then he read me my [F]options he said here goes a [G]pill
only take two with A [Am]meal and It’ll numb how I [F]feel [G] [Am]
I can’t [F]find myself I get [G]lost inside my [Am]brain
I think I [F]might need help But I pushed [G]all of them [Am]way
I took [F]cards they dealt And there’s [G]nothing I can [Am]change
So when I’m [F]by myself I just [G]pray for brighter [Am]days
[F]Should I drown all these thoughts or should I leave them to float?
[G]I got all of my [Am]flaws living inside of this boat
[F]I’ve been anchored in pain the weight is making me choke
[G]It’s getting harder to [Am]breathe it’s pulling right at my [F]throat
I’ve been hoping for change but don’t know how to re[G]start
they say you ain’t a [Am]man when you exposing your [F]heart
Then they say you’re insane until it tears you a[G]part
And then it cuts you so [Am]deep and they can tell by the [F]scars
We can only see change when we accept who we [G]are
Try to run from the [Am]shame and you will never get [F]far
Don’t you bottle the pain or live your life in the [G]dark
You’re meant break from those [Am]chains and shine as bright as a [F]star
Don’t you ever tell yourself that your depression is the [G]reason you won’t make it
or that [Am]happiness is not in your cards with our [F]God
you can beat all the odds keep your [G]faith and you’ll never get [Am]lost and say
