[D]Angel came [Am]down from [Em]heaven yester[D]day.
[G]She stayed with me [C]just long enough to [D]rescue me. [A7]
[D]And she [Am]told me a [Em]story yester[D]day
[G]about the sweet [C]love between the moon and the [D]deep blue sea. [C]
[G]And then she spread her [C]wings, high [D]over me.
She said, [Em]she’s [D]going to [G]come back tomorrow.
And I said, “[C]fly on my sweet [Dm7]angel. [G7]Fly on through the [C]sky.
[C]Fly on, my sweet [Dm7]angel, to[G7]morrow I’m gonna be by your [C]side.”
[D]Sure [Am]enough, this morning [Em]came on to [D]me;
[G]silver winged s[C]ilhouette against a [D]child’s sunrise. [A7]
[D]And my [Am]angel, she [Em]said unto [D]me,
[G]“today is the [C]day for you to [D]rise. [C]
Take my [G]hand, you’re [C]gonna be my [D]man. You’re gonna rise.”
And [Em]then she took [D]me high [G]over yonder, Lord.
And I said, “[C]fly on my sweet [Dm7]angel. [G7]Fly on through the [C]sky.
[C]Fly on, my sweet [Dm7]angel, to[G7]morrow I’m gonna be by your [C]side.”
